She appears as a unique NPC in Samurai Warriors 3. She first appeared in the Samurai Warriors series as a generic priestess bodyguard in the second installment. According to legends and folklore, she lamented the Uesugi civil war for succession after Kenshin's death and refused to support either heir. She is Kagekatsu's mother and Masakage Nagao's first wife. Aya (綾御前, Aya-Gozen) is one of the proposed given names for Kenshin's older sister who is better known under her name as a nun, Sentō-In. ![]()
